The art of building violins in the Vogtland is more than 300 years old. So in the wonderful landscape of my home there has established an art of craft which still determines the life of the people in our days. Some years before the 300th anniversary of our guild I opened my workshop in Erlbach in 1971.
As a master of violin-making I am spezialized in new building of violins and violas and I build these instruments together with my son Frank according to all classical models and sizes.
Carefully chosen and long seasoned woods guarantie a good quality of sound for ambitious musicians.
At the international competition of violin making in Mittenwald in 1989 a viola of our workshop was decorated.
We direct our attention especially to competendly carried out repairs and restores. Especially the restore of historical instruments is a work which allways requires special abilities. Rebuild the historical sound and in addition save the esthitics of the instrument not only requires all our manuell abilities but also to put ourselfes in the music of the respective epoch.
